On The Road In Metro-Manila

EDSA -- Giant-size photo-ads seem to be the trend in advertising nowadays. LRT station on 5th Avenue. According to my tour guide (my mom), LRT crowd is unruly while MRT crowd is more sophisticated. Take the MRT, never the LRT, if you can. Some weirdo directing traffic on 6th Avenue Cultural Center of the Philippines Jeepney-hopping street vendors in Tondo MRT. For all intents and purposes, this scene could be HK, London, or NY. Given convenient mass transport, crowds anywhere in the world behave similarly. I so love-love-loved the MRT while there! Cody and Abe at Greenbelt Mall Rustan's on Ayala Avenue -- no longer the blue bathroom-tiles building that it once was... Paseo de Roxas -- my old work neighborhood! Memorial park sale! Complete with banners, loudspeakers, tent, and promotionals in the city of Antipolo. Die now pay later plan, anybody? Road to Kuya's house in Antipolo City Quezon Blvd. -- Monument of Quezon Memorial Circle in the distance Grace Park -- nothing much has changed here... Rail crossing C3 road in Caloocan -- nothing much has changed here either... Caloocan City Park in front of City hall -- or what used to be a park A. Mabini corner 10th Avenue. Loved this corner. I don't remember hailing a cab this easy anywhere in Metro-Manila. Vi and preggie Awit in the backseat Xavierville Road -- a different route to Kuya's house taken by Kuya's son-in-law, Nory. Chowking billboard in the distance -- Via's favorite halo-halo (and mine, too!) MRT station. Without a train on the tracks, the waiting passengers always looked to me like they are about to jump. Masinag Market in Marikina City Kuya, Mommy, Vi, and Me at a Jollibee restaurant on Quezon Blvd. Abe and Cody at Jollibee A. Mabini Street in Caloocan. The same street where I was born.
